Anti-Victim Blaming Workshops

Surrey County Council has identified that victim blaming is commonplace across agencies, and we recognise this is a key barrier for victims and survivors to seek help, whilst also keeping perpetrators invisible, causing secondary victimisation from service provisions. This interactive reflective workshop, is a safe place for practitioners to understand what victim blaming is, reflect on our own bias that impacts how we respond to victims and survivors, and learn how to adopt anti-victim blaming practice into their everyday professional and personal lives.

This training was created to support the implementation of Surrey’s Anti-Victim Blaming Guidance.

“This needs to be rolled out across Surrey. This training was excellent and something I feel everyone can learn from” – MASH – Team Manager

“It has made me more aware of how bias I can be towards victims, I feel I need to put more focus on the perpetrator” – Social Worker – Adults

“Very insightful, thought-provoking training” – Occupational Health Assistant
