PHSE Digital Safety Teaching and Learning Resources KS3 – 5, OK to Ask?

PSHE Digital Safety Teaching and Learning Resources KS3 – 5, OK to Ask?

Funded by the Home Office these PSHE teaching and learning resources focus on digital safety and are freely available for secondary schools/settings. Developed by Surrey Healthy Schools and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey, they link to the Surrey Police campaign ‘OK to Ask?’.

Comprising of a series of short video clips depicting teenagers reflecting upon and responding assertively to pressure from peers to share or request nudes the campaign actively involved young people throughout the research and development phases. It is designed to initiate thought, challenge perceptions, and empower young people to reject harmful behaviour while supporting their peers.

In response to the positive impact of the campaign we have developed a suite of teaching and learning resources for KS3-5. The resource includes:

  • guidance on facilitating high-quality, effective PSHE (specifically digital safety)
  • mapping documents (lessons are mapped to DfE statutory guidance and PSHE Association Programme of Study)
  • assessment guidance and activities
  • advice for teachers
  • lesson plans including a list of resources required, key vocabulary, learning outcomes
  • baseline and summative assessment opportunities, and main activities

The lesson plans and guidance are developed for use in secondary schools/settings as part of their PSHE scheme of work.
